Bentonville Travel Tips – The Buckyball at Twilight – Crystal Bridges

The Buckyball Sculpture at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art comes alive at twilight with bright colors that glow in the night. The work is a creation of Leo Villareal in 2012. Named after Buckminster Fuller, the inventor of the geodesic dome; the Buckyball is a 30′ sphere with a second nested inside of it.

It is designed to represent a carbon 60 molecule. The entire structure is wrapped with LED tubes that produce bright changing colored light. Every evening around sunset visitors gather to witness it’s vivid display against the color changing sky.

It is one of those Bentonville travel tips for that is highly recommended for all!
